EARLY LIFE

Alejandra Onieva was born in Madrid, Spain on 1st June 1992.

She is a spanish actress and model.

She has 1 older brother (Iñigo,1989), 1 younger brother (Jaime,1996 - who had a twin named Carlos who died at 7 from meningitis).

Her brother Iñigo is a car designer and director of the Mabel Hospitality which owns some of the most famous spanish restaurants in Spain such as 'Tatel' (now also with a branch in Beverly Hills, California). He also founded the nightclub 'Lula' in Madrid.

Jaime owns a company in the real estate sector.

Her parents divorced when she was 8. Her dad, Iñigo Onieva, is the global digital business director of the Barcelò Hotel Group and her mum, Carolina Molas (1969), is the CEO of Cemevisa (105 employees), one of the most important and famous chain of stores in Spain for household appliances, a family business created by Carlos Ramos in 1963, Alejandra's granfather. In 1983 Alejandra's mum and her family was forced to flee from the Basque country due to threats from the Spanish mafia ETA.

Alejandra studied at Las Irlandesas in La Moraleja, in Madrid where she's still living with her family.

Her grandmother is from Buenos Aires, Argentina.

​

Her dad re-married in Mexico. The family has a beautiful relationship with them and Alejandra has a younger step-brother named Guillermo (2006). They lived in Mexico but moved in Mallorca, Spain.

CAREER

2008-2010: CAREER BEGINNINGS

Her artistic career began in 1998 when she started to practice Rhythmic Gymnastics until 2004, year in which she started to practice Figure Skating until 2008.

​

Alejandra always wanted to be an actress but she was very shy when she was little so she thought that her dream was impossible but she started doing various acting courses in Madrid: she was 16 when she studied at Sala Cuarta Pared (2007-2009) for which she did her first appearance in theatre with "Mezclando Colores", ("Mixing Colours") in 2009. Then she studied at Interactive Studio (2009-2011), where the teacher told her that a talent manager was interested in her so she signed a contract with Kaliash Managment and did 3 audition: one of them was for "El secreto de Puente Viejo" (The secret of Puente Viejo).

She studied acting at Interactive Studio, Mario Bolanos acting school, and Fourth Wall, in Madrid.

​

Her parents didn't want her to be an actress but she followed her dreams anyway, so Alejandra started to do auditions without let them knowing. One of the audition was for the series "Fisica o Quìmica" and she became one of the finalists but did not made the last audition because she was a minor and did not had the permission of her parents. 

​

In 2013 in an interview in the Italian TV show "Verissimo" she revealed she was in a relationship with the french model Nicolas LaBelle, who was in the same school as her. They were together from 2009 to 2014.

2011-2014: BREAKTHROUGH WITH "The secret of Puente Viejo"

She didn't applay to any college in the hope that her family would let her be an actress, however this didn't happen as they sent her to London to work.

​

In 2011 she came back in Spain and enrolled at the Villanueva's University where she studied Advertising, PR and Fashion until she was chosen to give role to the main character of Soledad Castro Montenegro in the TV series  of "The Secret of Puente Viejo" (Antena 3). Her family initially disagreed because Alejandra was a very good student but she had to move in Bologna, Italy to continue her studies so it's was impossible to combine the series with that, but they saw how Alejandra took her job seriously and how much she wanted to be an actress so they all started to support her.

In 2014 Alejandra started studying acting at the Acting School Work in Progress in Madrid.

​

She had the role of Soledad from 2011 to 2014 (715 episodes) and the series made Alejandra known internationally. However she left the project to dedicate herself to new experiences as actress. 

​

2014-2017: FILMS, MUSIC VIDEO, THEATRES & MIAMI AND NEW YORK

Infact in 2014 she acted in her first film: "For a Handful of Kisses" (Por un puñado de besos) directed by David Menkes and she was in the music video of Capitán Mandarina's "Eléctrico".

In 2014 and 2015 she lived in Miami and in New York, USA where she learnt English through an in-person training course and studied acting at the Will Keen Acting Studio.

In 2015 she was Gladys, one of the main character, in the film "Novatos" (Hazing) directed by Pablo Aragüés and in the same year she came back in theatres with "El Burlador de Sevilla", as Doña Ana De Ulloa - staged from October 1st to November 29th, from Tuesday to Sunday at the 'Teatro Español' - directed by Darío Facal who, the next year, directed a new theatre work in which Alejandra partecipated as one of main role, "A Midsummer Night's Dream" that took actors in a tour of the spanish theatres from January until June (Murcia-Teatro Romea; Móstoles-Teatro del Bosque; Barcelona-Teatro Principal; Vitoria-Teatro Principal; Asturias; Castilla; Alcázar de San Juan-Teatro Auditorio Municipal; Andalusia; Almería-Teatro Municipal; Valencia; Castellòn de la Plana-Teatro Principal; Valencia; Elda-Teatro Castelar; Majadahonda, Madrid-Teatro Carmen Conde; Cantabria; Santander-Teatro Casyc; Madrid-Matadero Theatre (may-june); Cáceres-Gran Teatro among the dates...) in the role of Hermia and Eva Nista.

In 2015 she started a relationship with the spanish businessman Fernando Nicolàs Gonzales Larrumba who owns some of the fashion restaurants and bars in Spain. They both decided to part ways at the end of 2017.

​

In 2016 her contract with Kaliash Managment expired and Alejandra signed with AleightHouse Managment. Meanwhile she was still studying acting in Working Progress, Will Keen and voice training at Juan Cordina.

2017-2020: FOREIGN PROJECTS, LA & "Alta Mar" (Netflix)

In 2017 she had the main role of Agata in the Italian TV series of the RAI "Sotto Copertura 2" (Undercover 2) for which she learnt Italian in her hotel room.

​

In the same year she did cameos in the series of "Reinas" (Queens) released and produced by Televisiòn Española and the BBC, in the role of Ana de Austria and in the fantasy TV series  "Dalia de las Hadas" (Dalia and the Fairies) produced by Argentina and Italy. 

In 2017 and 2018 she acted in the role of Chloe in the Spanish TV comedy "Ella es tu padre" (She's your father).

In 2018 she was chosen as the main character, Anne, of the new series thriller of Antena 3, "Presunto Culpable" (Presumed guilty) produced by Atresmedia Televisiòn and Boomerang TV, which was nominated at the Iris Awards 2019 for 'Best Fiction' and it won the Mongolia Award as 'Best Foreign TV series' at the Shanghai International TV Festival 2019. 

On September and October 2019 she lived in Los Angeles and auditioned for Netflix series and she was a guest in Hollywood at the RecentSpanishCinema night in October.

She was chosen by Netflix to role Carolina Villanueva in the series "Alta Mar" (High Seas) alongside to Ivana Baquero and Jon Kortajarena. The series has 3 season and the last one was released during summer 2020, year in which she started a relationship with the romanian-american actor Sebastian Stan, the two broke up a year later.

2020-2024: Corto films, LA & Hollywood, VIEW MANAGMENT, "Historias para no contar", CURTIS BROWN, "Las Pelotaris-1926" & "Costiera"

In 2020 she also filmed a short film,  "La Cinta" directed by Alberto Ruiz Rojo which was released in 2021.

From the end of 2020 until July 2021 she lived in Los Angeles where she did acting auditions and lessons and lived and explored the Hollywood system. She had plans to move in the US but decided to wait to support her family and stay in Spain for now.

​

In 2021 she signed with the worldwide model agency VIEW MANAGEMENT .

​

In the same year she filmed another corto film: "Yo, al volante",  directed by César Ríos, which was released the next year. The corto recived many awards and honoured jury mentions, she was also nominated as Best Actress at the Festival de Cine de Granada.

​

In 2022 she had the role of Barbara in the new Cesc Gay's film "Historias Para No Contar" (Stories to not be told) and she appeared in the Netflix's documentary series "Lady Tamara". 

In 2022 Alejandra's contract with AleightHouse expired and she signed with ChristinaChaparro Management.

​

In the 2023 she is Ane, one of the main role, in the new mexican series "Las Pelotaris-1926" on the worldwide streaming service ViX+, which she filmed in 2022. She gained a lot of appreciation and notority thanks to this role.

​

In the first quarter of 2023 she signed with the UK talent agency CURTIS BROWN. 

In the same year her contract with ChristinaChaparro expired and she signed with Lucia del Rio Managment.

​

She's still studying acting in Interactive Studio in Madrid. 

In November 2023 she made some interviews about various topics with Andres Koi for Xperience CaixaBank which were released on their Youtube account. 

​

From 31th October 2023 to early December she was in London to study English at the Frances King International School. 

​

From 1st March to the end of May 2024 Alejandra was on the Amalfi coast to film a new project. On 10th April the production company Luxvide and Variety announced that Alejandra will be in the highly anticipated italian series "Costiera" directed by Adam Bernstain and Giacomo Martelli and leaded by the american actor Jesse Williams, filmed in english and produced by Amazon -which has fully rights as distributor in Italy, France, Spain and Portugal- and Luxvide -which will handle the global sales-.

She did many promotional and commercial campaigns and she was testimonial of importants national and international brands like Saphir Parfumes, Gold & Roses, Waku Store, La Colombine, DKNY, KOCCA, HOSSINTROPIA, Loropiana, Aquazzurra, Barcena, SIBELA, Rabat...
And for worldwide brands like YSL, Reebok, Dior, DKNY, NARSISSIST, GHD, Chanel, Armani, Bvlgari, MaxMara, Fiat 500 electric, Earden, Moschino...
From 2019 she is promoting famous worldwide brands on her Instagram official account (@ale_onieva) like Kerastase, Guarlain, Oreal, DKNY, JimmyChoo, Max&Co, MaxMara, Prada, Armani, Bvlgari, Valentino, Missoni, Karl Lagerfeld, Calzedonia, Carolina Herrera, Moschino... 

From 2017 to 2021 she was the spanish ambassador of the american brand DKNY for which she filmed commercials in New York.

She is an fashion role model for her outfits and a social activist:

She loves animals: has adopted 3 dogs: a golden retriever named Hugo (-2023), two shih tzu, Rumbon and Tito and a parrot adopted by her mother named Julito.

Her favorite fruit is pineapple. She has a lot of food intolerances.

Her nikname is Rubi (blonde in spanish).

She can ride. She do her skincare everynight and meditate everyday. Exercises 3 days in a week.

Her paradise on earth and refuge is Tulum, Mexico. Her favorites cities are London, Paris and New York. She can speak spanish, italian and english.

Her favorite TV series is the american "Friends". She wants to work with Pedro Almodòvar and Richard Curtis. Her favorite Disney princess is Ariel. She creates a playlist inspired by the character she plays. Her model roles for acting are Cate Blanchett, Natalie Portman, Julianne Moore, Julia Roberts, Jennifer Lawrence, Angelina Jolie, Carey Mulligan.

Ale wants an international careeer but she doesn't want to stop working in Spain. She wants to live in two countries.
